Underground Town Of Cobber Pedy

The town of Coober Pedy is also known as the "opal capital of the world" due to the amount of treasured opals which can be mined there. Located in the distant South Australian desert, where temperatures attain 125 °F / 51 °F, this small mining town with a inhabitants of 2,000 is also well-known for its underground residences ("dugouts").
